Recruitment & Selection at London Probation Trust

This competency based Recruitment & Selection training provided LPT HR and L & D Managers with opportunities to review and improve their recruitment & selection skills. This 2.0 day course covered a number of different and important areas (see below). Participants experienced practice interviews with Candidates who not only completed LPTs Application Form but then gave feedback to the Panels on the 'quality of their interview questions'.

Participants will:

  • Review the merits of Positive Action for the Trust;

  • Consider the whole process and decide on a 'good practice' sequence that delivers consistency;

  • Clarify what effective criteria looks like and how to gather real, tangible evidence;

  • Practice using the Trust's guidelines for shortlisting;

  • Review an overview of theEquality Act 2010 and its requirements on Recruiting Managers;

  • Receive a presentation to clarify how the Recruitment Team works to support the Trust's standards;

  •  Review questioning techniques that work and preferred test to use to elicit evidence;

  • Plan to undertake an interview and gain feedback on your performance.
